Why the Nazi Branding Is Worth Looking At Directly

I have never been the one to call Trump and MAGA fascists, because I think that characterization somewhat misses the point of the danger the movement poses. Along those lines, the repurposing of Nazi branding for their dangerous agenda is worth looking at directly.

Hitler did not use the iconography he did because he just liked the aesthetic. He used it because it is effective at bypassing the conscious thought process of the masses. He was highly aware of this and was not shy about admitting it.

It is worth spending some time considering what they are hoping you will look past because your brain is stimulated in a certain way by these techniques. It is working across at least two layers.

For people who love Trump and MAGA, it is helping them look past elements of their leadership that need extreme scrutiny.

For people who are against Trump and MAGA, it is causing them to think about Hitler, which keeps them from seeing the very clear issues the movement poses without a mirage of Hitler in the way.

Those two things together mean continued fracturing, division and hatred multiplying at an extremely fast rate. We would all be wise to be aware of this hijacking, which is being implemented consciously by this administration.
